Music From a Farther Room: A Journal of Fiction and Poetry was envisioned by the student writers at Long Beach City College as a forum for fiction writers and poets, not only from within the college but throughout the community. All submissions are read blind to ensure objectivity. The premier issue, Spring 1998, features work by four fiction writers, including Long Beach City College English and creative writing professor David Lipton, nineteen poets, including professor Frank Gaspar, and original drawings by Long beach artist JoshuaWeston.
